Justin Belcher is a percussion educator, arranger, and adjudicator from Durham, NC and is currently the battery caption head and tenor technician for Wake Forest Independent. During his eighteen year career, Justin has taught and written for numerous award-wining scholastic and independent programs throughout WV, NC, VA, and TX. In addition to WFI, Justin currently teaches at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School and is the front ensemble arranger for Ledford High School and the Ledford Indoor Percussion Ensemble. From 2005-2007 Justin served as battery caption head for the Virginia Helmsmen, a six-time WGI World Championship PIO finalist and from Danville, VA.
Justin has performed at all levels of the activity, including Drum Corps International as a member of the Tarheel Sun tenor section in 2000, and Winter Guard International as the tenor section leader and ensemble section leader in 2004. While attending Virginia Tech for his bachelors and masters degrees in Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction Justin was a member of the university's symphonic and marching ensembles. After graduating, Justin and his wife Cassie moved to North Carolina where Justin performed as a member of the Raleigh Civic Chamber Orchestra, Raleigh Civic Symphony, and the Triangle Brass Band. For the past four years Justin has worked at SAS Institute in Cary, NC as an interface designer.
Justin is a marching percussion specialist for Vic Firth Inc, and an independent artist for Dynasty USA.
