Tyler Honeycutt is no stranger to the Carolina Gold family. The 2011 season will mark his 6th year with the corps. Tyler began his time with Gold as a marching member in the tenor line in 2004 and was tenor section leader in 2005. He served as Tenor Technician for the 2006 and 2009 seasons and had the privilege of serving as Battery Coordinator and Snare Technician for the 2010 DCA High-Percussion-Award winning Carolina Gold Percussion Section.
Outside of Gold, Tyler serves as a battery consultant for Wake Forest Independent Percussion and teaches percussion at Hendersonville Middle School. He has studied under Danny Raymond, Jr., Dr. Brian Tinkel, Dr. Tracy Wiggins, Louis Cato, and Derek Johnson. Tyler received his education degree from Mars Hill College with a minor in music. He is a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia national music fraternity and is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society. Tyler currently lives in Hendersonville, NC where he works as a math teacher at Hendersonville Middle School. Tyler is very excited to return to Gold this year as Battery Coordinator and Tenor Technician.
