Alan Mason
Carolina Gold Drum Corps Assistant Director
Mr. Alan Mason holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from East Carolina University. While there he performed with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, The Marching Pirates and The 6th Man Pep Band.
Alan was also a member of the Equinox Tuba Quartet, who won the 2008 Southeast Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference Ensemble Competition, the 2008 North Carolina Music Teacher’s National Association(MTNA) Small Ensemble Competition and placed 2nd in the Southeast Region of the US MTNA Competition.
After graduating from Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville, Mr. Mason performed with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps.
Following college, Alan Mason was an educator at James B. Hunt High School, and East Wake High School before becoming the sales manager for Big Boss Brewing Company, based out of Raleigh.
Mr. Mason’s teaching experience includes working with East Carteret High School Marching Band, West Carteret High School Marching Band, South Granville High School Marching Band, James B. Hunt High School Marching Band, and is currently on staff with Middle Creek High School Marching Band.
Mr. Mason is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity and currently lives in Raleigh with his wife, Rachel and their amazing son James.
