Desirae started her percussion experience by accident when her friend signed her up for winter percussion her senior year of high school and she fell in love with the art form. She marched with Carolina Gold Drum Corps, Alchemy Independent, and also served as a Co-Captain of the NC State Drumline.

She later shared her passion for cymbals by teaching at local high schools including Athens Drive, Green Hope and Cary High School. She also served in an instructional capacity with NC State and Duke University.

Desirae has an Associates of Arts degree with major both in music theory and dental assisting. She currently serves as a Certified Dental Assistant at University Dental and leads the oral surgery team.

When she’s not slinging her plates around or helping pull teeth, she’s probably spoiling her pitbull, Natasha and her mud turtle, Penelope.
