Jesse Rackley is an accomplished tenor trombonist, euphoniumist, and music educator based in the Raleigh, NC area. Jesse holds the positions of Principal Euphonium with the Triangle Brass Band and second trombonist with the Tar River Philharmonic. He has performed with the North Carolina Symphony, Wilmington Symphony, Durham Symphony, Carolina Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, and the Tar River Symphonic Band. As a soloist, Jesse has been featured with the Triangle Brass Band, Triangle Youth Brass Band, Triangle Youth Brass Ensemble, 440th US Army Band, East Carolina University Tuba Ensemble, and various high school and community groups.
Jesse is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Triangle Youth Brass Band. The TYBB is a high school aged British style brass band that is open to the very best brass players in the central North Carolina area through recommendation and audition. The TYBB performs at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh and draws it's repertoire from standard and contemporary British brass band literature as well as arrangements and transcriptions of wind band and orchestral works.
Jesse was the winner of the 2009 and 2007 Southeast Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference's solo euphonium competition, runner up in the 2002 International Tuba Euphonium Conference's Young Artist solo competition, semi-finalist in the 2002 Leonard Falcone International Tuba Euphonium Competition, and was the winner of the 2002 NC Governor's School concerto competition.
As a teacher, Jesse maintains a large and active private studio of over 20 students throughout central and eastern North Carolina. His students consistently receive top honors in the NC All-District and All-State Bands and participate in various music camps and summer festivals. Jesse regularly travels the state giving brass fundamental clinics and working with many local middle and high school bands. He is currently the brass instructor with some of North Carolina's most active band programs.
