Brighton Barrineau

Brass Instructor

Brighton Barrineau is a freelance arranger, composer, and designer, living in Columbia, South Carolina. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, Brighton joined the family business of real estate, working with JP & Associates Magnolia Group. During his time at USC, Brighton studied french horn with JD Shaw and played in the University Band and Symphonic Winds.

Brighton has been involved in the drum corps community since 2014, concluding his marching experience as the mellophone section leader of The Cadets in 2019. To finish his age-out season, Brighton was awarded the Brass Distinguished Service award. Brighton also marched mellophone at The Spirit of Atlanta (‘14) and The Casper Troopers (‘17).

Brighton is an active music and visual technician currently working at Lexington High School in Lexington, SC. Before working at Lexington High School, Brighton served on the staff at River Bluff High School in Lexington, SC, for four years. They made many appearances at Bands of America Regional Championship finals and SCBDA 4A State Marching Championship Silver and Bronze Medalist. He regularly consults with band programs around the state and country.

Brighton is excited to be on the brass staff for Carolina Gold’s inaugural season in Drum Corps International Open Class and is looking forward to helping students achieve greatness!
