Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps is a non-profit community organization whose purpose is to promote and foster a general interest and participation in a public drum & bugle corps for the state of North Carolina by providing programs and services that will allow practice and study of the fine art of drum & bugle corps.

Corey Denham – Percussion co-caption head

Corey Denham will earn his undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Percussion Performance from Mars Hill College in the spring of 2012. Corey served as the Front Ensemble Technician for Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps in 2010, helping lead the ensemble to their 2010 high percussion award in Class A at DCA finals. Corey instructs and arranges for several successful high school marching bands and percussion ensembles through out North Carolina. Corey currently serves as the Front Ensemble Caption Head for the WGI finalist Wake Forest Independent percussion ensemble and is currently serving as the Co-Percussion Caption Head for the Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps.

As a performer, Corey has performed with Mars Hill College’s Wind Symphony, Percussion Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Marimba Band. He performs professionally in Asheville, NC and has performed with the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra located in Johnson City, Tennessee. Corey’s drum corps experience includes performing with the Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps and the 2011 DCI World Class Finalist Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps.
Corey is a member of the National Association for Music Education, and the Percussive Arts Society.
