Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps is a non-profit community organization whose purpose is to promote and foster a general interest and participation in a public drum & bugle corps for the state of North Carolina by providing programs and services that will allow practice and study of the fine art of drum & bugle corps.

Jonathan Pratt – Snare Technician / Visual Technician

Jonathan Pratt is in second year working with Carolina Gold and is currently the Snare technician for Wake Forest Independent as the 2012 Snare Technician.

Jonathan played snare with Constitution Percussion from 2007-2008. Constitution was a group that competed in the Independent World Class of Winter Guard International. He marched snare with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2009, when the Troopers returned to the DCI World Class finals for the first time in 23 years. Jonathan has also performed with the Triangle Brass Band on percussion. Jonathan began his instructional career by teaching the Cary High School Marching Percussion section in 2008. Cary has a successful history of competing in events with Bands of America, United States Scholastic Band Association, Atlantic Indoor Association, and Winter Guard International. Jonathan is in his fourth season of performing this role for Cary High School. Most recently, Jonathan was the Snare Technician and Battery Drill Designer for the 2011 Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps and ended the season with a First place percussion finish in Class A.

Throughout his percussion career, Jonathan has been fortunate to benefit from the following distinguished instructors: Will Goodyear, Teddy Holcomb, Matt Ramey, Murray Gusseck, Matt Savage, Jeff Queen, Dylan Thompson, Kevin Welborn, and Ralph Hardimon.
