Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps is a non-profit community organization whose purpose is to promote and foster a general interest and participation in a public drum & bugle corps for the state of North Carolina by providing programs and services that will allow practice and study of the fine art of drum & bugle corps.

DR. Nick Kenney - Mellophone technician

New to Carolina Gold in 2012, Dr. Nicholas Kenney brings over 15 years of experience in the marching arts to the corps. Currently the Director of Instrumental Studies at Cresset Christian Academy, Nick holds a Bachelor’s of Music in horn performance from Western Carolina University and a Master’s of Music/Doctor of Musical Arts in horn performance and pedagogy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Nick’s marching experience includes being a member of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps, Western Carolina University “Pride of the Mountains Marching Band”, and the East Lincoln High School Marching Band.

For over a decade, Nick has taught and adjudicated marching and brass in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Nebraska. He currently serves as a visual/marching and brass consultant to the Chapel Hill (NC) High School and Cheraw (SC) High School band programs. In addition, Nick maintains an active performing career, appearing all over the world as a soloist, section player, and lecturer.
